Topeka Kan. – The Pittsburg State University volleyball team lost in the first round of the MIAA Spring Volleyball Championship to Newman University, 3-2. The Gorillas ended the season with a 5-10 record and 3-5 in the MIAA.

The Gorillas started the matchup strong with wins in the first two sets, 25-17, 25-21. The Jets would bounce back in set three with a 25-22 win. Set four would go the way of Newman with a 25-21 decision. In set five the Jets lead the whole way taking the set 15-13.
