Joplin, Mo. – The Pittsburg State University volleyball team finished a perfect weekend taking down Missouri Southern, 3-1.

The Gorillas fell behind early when the Lady Lions took the first set 25-17. The Gorillas would return in set two to take the set 25-23. Pitt State wouldn't slow down taking the third set 25-16.   In the fourth set Pitt State would take an early lead 10-7 forcing a Missouri Southern timeout. The Gorillas would continue the momentum through the timeout taking the set 25-23.

In the match senior middle hitter Hope White and junior outside hitter Meg Auten notched 16 kills a piece for the Gorillas. Auten also tallied 17 digs in the match. Junior setter Bri Richard put up familiar numbers with 47 kills and eight digs.

The Gorillas next action will come in St. Joseph Mo. against Missouri Western, Friday Sept. 24. First serve against the Griffons is set for 5 p.m. (CDT).
