HAYS, Kan. − The Pittsburg State University volleyball team finished the regular season with a 3-0 road win against Fort Hays State University Friday (Nov. 4).

The Gorillas fired out of the gate behind five kills from Meg Auten in the first set to win, 25-19. In the second set, the Gorillas overcame a slow start as six kills from Auten led the Gorillas to a 25-20 win. In the third set, Auten continued to display her attacking skills as she led the Gorillas with four kills in the set to win it, 25-19, to complete the sweep.

Auten and setter Bre Richard both had double-doubles on the evening for the Gorillas. Auten had 15 kills and 16 digs, while Richard posted 29 assists and 10 digs. Libero Marissa Bates led the Gorillas with 19 digs.Â

Pitt State has qualified for the upcoming MIAA Tournament which starts next Thursday (Nov. 10). The Gorillas await the official release of the tournament bracket later this weekend following the completion of regular season play.
