MIAA Launches Name, Image and Likeness Marketplace, Powered by Opendorse

PITTSBURG — The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association now has an exclusive Name, Image and Likeness marketplace powered by Opendorse.

The marketplace makes it easier than ever for fans and potential name, image and likeness (NIL) partners to browse and connect with Pittsburg State University student-athletes as well as student-athletes from the MIAA's additional 13 member institutions.

MIAA student-athletes who have opted in to participate in the marketplace maintain individual profile pages that include specific options for how NIL partners can engage. Student-athletes can review opportunities and accept compensation directly through the Opendorse app.

The MIAA is the first NCAA Division II conference to create an exclusive marketplace on Opendorse, the Association's official NIL technology partner.

Pittsburg State executed an institutional agreement directly with Opendorse in the spring of 2022, becoming one of the first NCAA Division II institutions in the country to do so. Thus far, almost a dozen Gorilla student-athletes have utilized the platform to connect with providers and complete NIL transactions. In early January 2023, Opendorse representatives will visit the PSU campus to conduct educational sessions for student-athletes, staff and marketplace providers.
