EMPORIA, Kan. -- The Emporia State University baseball team scored six runs in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday (Apr. 12) to rally for a 12-11 victory over Pittsburg State University at Glennen Field.
The Gorillas (23-13, 17-7 MIAA) belted six home runs in the contest but Pitt State could not hold off the Hornets (15-23, 9-15 MAA) in the final two frames. ESU scored two runs in the eighth and six more in the ninth, including Dylan Werries walk off grand slam home run to end the game.
Brett Daley hit a pair of solo homers for the Gorillas, while Garrett McGowan, Caleb Carr, Braeden Hinton and Trey McClelland also smacked round trippers.
