Box Score LIBERTY, MO. — The Pittsburg State University Volleyball team won on the road in a non-conference battle at William Jewell University 3-1 Tuesday (Sept. 13) at the Mabee Center in Liberty.
 
The Gorillas got off to a rough start to the match, dropping the first set to the Cardinals 25-18. After that, the Gorillas bounced back taking sets two and three 25-18, and 25-17. In the third set, the Gorillas went off to a 14-5 start, the Cardinals rallied from behind but the effort was not enough as the Gorillas shut the door winning the fourth set 27-25.
 
Graduate Meg Auten let the way with 14 kills hitting .209. Brianna Richard had 51 assists and 12 digs while Marissa Bates had 25 digs. Seville Gates, Kate Bandre, and Jayden Sanford had double digit kills for the Gorillas.
 
The Gorillas come back home this Friday (Sept. 16) to host the Jennies of Central Missouri. The first serve will be at 2 p.m. (CDT).
