PITTSBURG — The Emporia State University men's basketball team led from box to wire in a 79-63 victory over Pittsburg State University Thursday (Jan. 12) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.
Owen Long scored a game high 24 points to pace the Hornets (13-3, 7-3 MIAA) in the contest. Kaden Evans added 11 points as ESU shot 47.4 percent from the field (27-57) and hit 11 3-point field goals in the contest.
Quentin Hardict Jr. posted 16 points, seven rebounds and eight assists for the Gorillas (5-11, 3-8 MIAA), while Jeramy Shaw matched his season high scoring output with 14 points. Deshaun English II finished with nine points and Calvin Poulina added seven points.
The Gorillas will return to action Saturday (Jan. 14) by hosting MIAA rival Washburn University at 3:30 p.m. (CST).
