St. Joseph, Mo. – The Pittsburg State volleyball team opened MIAA weekend action with a 3-0 loss to Missouri Western State University Friday (Oct. 13) at the MWSU Fieldhouse. Set scores were 25-14, 25-13, 25-16.
Junior outside hitter Seville Gates (Merriam, Kan.) finished with a team-high eight kills for the Gorillas while junior setter Jadyn Jackson (Augusta, Kan.) dished out a team-high 11 assists and eight digs.
Junior outside hitter Ivy Fink (Hoyt, Kan.) collected seven digs and sophomore libero Josie McCroskey (Springdale, Ark.) chipped in with six digs. Redshirt junior middle hitter Carly Clennan (El Dorado, Kan.) had two total blocks.
Up next for the Gorillas will be a road match against Northwest Missouri Saturday (Oct. 14) at 3 p.m. (CDT) at Bearcat Arena.
