PITTSBURG -- Emily Ellis and Riley Tinder combined for 30 kills to help lead the Fort Hays State University volleyball team to a 3-1 victory over Pittsburg State University Friday (Oct. 20) at John Lance Arena. The Lady Tigers defeated the Gorillas 25-17, 19-25, 26-25, 25-17.
Pitt State (7-14, 3-10 MIAA) got a match high 18 kills from Janae Thurston. She added 15 digs to finish the match with a double-double. Kate Bandre added eight kills, while Ivy Fink finished with seven kills. Fink posted a team-best 21 digs in the contest. Jadyn Jackson chipped in with 34 assists, five kills and 12 digs.
Gracie Rains also posted double digit kills (13) for FHSU (9-13, 3-10 MIAA).Â
The Gorillas will return to action Saturday (Oct. 21) with a 3 p.m. home match against No. 8 ranked Nebraska-Kearney.
