PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University volleyball team wrapped up its 2023 season with a hard fought 3-2 loss to Missouri Western State University Saturday (Nov. 11) at John Lance Arena.
The Gorillas took a 2-1 lead before the Griffons rallied in sets four and five to prevail 16-25, 25-13, 23-25, 25-19, 15-9. Pitt State's season concludes with a 10-19 overall record (5-15 MIAA).
Janae Thurston led three Pitt State players in double figures in kills with 17. Jayden Sanford (12) and Avery DeLong (11) also reached double digits in kills.
Jaydn Jackson posted 46 assists in the match, while Josie McCroskey finished with a team-leading 38 digs. Ivy Fink also contributed 27 digs on the night.
