KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Pittsburg State University sophomore guard Max Alexander was selected as the MIAA Player of the Week for men's basketball Monday (Dec. 11).
Alexander averaged 26.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game while leading Pitt State to a pair of home wins over Newman and previously unbeaten Central Oklahoma last week.
The Buhler, Kan., native scored 24 points, dished out five assists and played all 40 minutes in the Gorillas 75-66 upset over the No. 3 ranked Bronchos Saturday (Dec. 9). He added 29 points, eight rebounds and three steals in Pitt State's 82-66 victory over the Jets on Dec. 7.
Alexander leads the MIAA in scoring to date, averaging 22.1 points per game.
