Gorillas Beat Blue Tigers, 77-60

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Pittsburg State men's basketball program picked up their fifth straight win of the season and third straight against MIAA opponents on the road against Lincoln University at Jason Gym (Dec. 30).

Pitt State (7-4, 3-2 MIAA) utilized a 14-2 run late in the second half to pull away from the Blue Tigers (8-3, 3-2 MIAA) for a 63-48 lead with 4:59 remaining. PSU wouldn't relinquished that lead en route to the 77-60 win.

The Gorillas were led by Max Alexander with 28 points for his seventh game this season scoring 20 or more points. Jeramy Shaw finished with 14 points and six rebounds in his first start of the season.

R.J. Forney Jr., Brayden Reed and Deshaun English II each scored eight points with English II securing a team-high 13 rebounds. Tane Prictor led the bench unit with six points and two blocks. 

Lincoln was led by Franck Yetna and Jose Roberto Tanchyn with 11 points each.

The Gorillas will be back home in their next game on Saturday (Jan. 6) hosting rival Missouri Southern State University at John Lance Arena. Tipoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. (CST).
