Hot Shooting Pitt State Pulls Away For 93-85 Win

PITTSBURG – Deshaun English II and Jeramy Shaw scored 23 points apiece to lead the hot-shooting Pittsburg State University men's basketball team to a 93-85 victory over the University of Nebraska-Kearney Saturday (Feb. 18) in the home finale at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.

English and Shaw both made eight of 11 shots from the field as the Gorillas 56.1 percent overall in the game (32-57). English added 12 rebounds to post his 11th double-double of the season.

Quentin Hardrict Jr. added 15 points and seven assists, while R.J. Forney Jr. finished with 13 points and seven rebounds and Tane Prictor chipped in with 10 points.

The Gorillas led 66-63 with 10:07 to play in the game before using a 7-0 run to build a 10-point cushion, 73-63, with 8:16 to go.

Sean Evans scored a game high 25 points for the Lopers, while Darrian Nebeker added 20 points in the contest.

Pitt State will travel to Emporia, Kan., Thursday (Feb. 23) to battle MIAA rival Emporia State University at 7:30 p.m. (CST) at W.L. White Auditorium.
