SHAWNEE, Okla. — The Oklahoma Baptist University baseball team scored two runs apiece in the second and third innings to build an early lead and rode that momentum to a 9-1 victory over Pittsburg State University Tuesday (Feb. 21).
The Gorillas (8-4) got their lone run on a solo home run by Trey McClelland in the top of the eighth inning. Five OBU (4-6) pitchers combined to limit Pitt State to four hits in the contest. The Bison strung together 10 hits and benefited from four walks in the contest.
Pitt State will return to action Friday (Feb. 24) when the Gorillas open a three-game MIAA series against Missouri Southern State University.
