PITTSBURG -- The Pittsburg State University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 20 University of Central Oklahoma Tuesday (Sept 26) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court. The Bronchos completed the season sweep of the series by winning the match 25-17, 25-12, 25-16.
Janae Thurston paced the Gorillas (6-7, 2-3 MIAA) with a team-leading eight kills and she added 15 digs on the defensive side. Seville Gates posted six kills, while Josie McCroskey made a team best 16 digs.
UCO (13-2, 4-1 MIAA) got a match high 14 kills from Jenna Karp, while Sydney Huck added 10 kills and 15 digs in the match.
Pitt State will return to action Friday (Sept. 29) when the Gorillas play host to MIAA rival Missouri Southern State University at 6 p.m. (CDT).
