PITTSBURG - The Pittsburg State University volleyball team lost in four sets against the Missouri Western State University Griffons on Friday (Oct. 18) at John Lance Arena as
Josie McCroskey became the 10th Gorilla in team history to eclipse 1,000 career digs.
Set scores against the Griffons (15-4, 6-2 MIAA) were 25-18, 25-22, 20-25, 25-18.Â
McCroskey led the team with 37 digs in the match and for her career now has 1,026 as a Gorilla (9-9, 4-4 MIAA).
Anna Dean led the team with nine kills and nine total blocks (two solo),
Vix Vilott and
Maliyah Johnson each finished with eight kills.
Jesa Wallace finished with 20 assists to lead the team while
Rylee Martin collected 15 assists.
Up next for the Gorillas will be the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats (11-7, 5-3 MIAA) on Saturday (Oct. 19) with first serve set for 6:00 p.m. (CDT) at John Lance Arena. Northwest Missouri is coming off a three set win on the road against the Newman University Jets to begin the weekend.
