KEARNEY, Neb. - The Pittsburg State men's basketball team picked up a 90-64 road win against the University of Nebraska-Kearney Lopers from the Health & Sports Center today (Feb. 24).
Up 35-31 at the half, the Gorillas shot .704 percent from the field (19-of-24) and .667 percent from three (6-of-9) in the second half to pull away from the Lopers and claim the 26-point victory (90-64).Â
Max Alexander scored a game-high 21 points and dished out four assists off the bench for Pittsburg State (17-9, 13-7 MIAA). Deshaun English II and Jordan Frison each scored 15 points in 32 minutes, while Jeramy Shaw (13), Tanner Mans (12) and Tane Prictor (10) rounded out the double-digit scorers.Â
Nebraska-Kearney (5-21, 2-19 MIAA) was led by D'Aundre Samuels with 17 points and Sean Murphy with a 15 point, 14 rebound double-double.
Up next for Pitt State is Emporia State (Feb. 28) and Missouri Western (Mar. 2) from John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court to wrap up the regular season before MIAA Tournament action begins (Mar. 6-10).
