Lamont, Schwisow to Join Pitt State Softball

PITTSBURG – Pittsburg State University head softball coach Jenny Fuller announced that Kyleigh Lamont and Riley Schwisow will join the Gorillas for the 2025 season.

Lamont, a Broken Arrow, Okla., native compiled a .418/.471/.730 slash line with 36 runs scored, 51 hits, 10 home runs, 44 RBI and 10 stolen bases at Seminole State College this past spring. For her career as a Trojan she played in 88 games for a .390/.458/.686 slash line with 14 home runs and 76 RBI.

"Kyleigh will bring a lot of experience to our squad," Fuller said. "Her athleticism and versatility will be an asset to our program and we are looking forward to seeing her on the field in a Pitt uniform!"

Lamont was a two-time first-team All-Region performer at Seminole State while helping lead the team to an 86-18 record. At Broken Arrow High School she was an OSSSA Female Athlete of the Year, four-time All-State and All-District performer while earning All-Academic honors three times.

Schwisow, a Beatrice, Neb., native finished the 2024 season with a .379/.431/.686 slash line with 40 runs scored, 53 hits, 10 doubles, nine home runs, 42 RBI and 17 stolen bases in as many attempts. In the field she recorded 58 putouts with 92 assists at the University of Sioux Falls. Named a second-team All-NSIC (Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) selection at shortstop in her lone season as a Cougar.

"Riley is a difference maker and will add some pop to our lineup," Fuller said. "She is a proven player that will make an immediate impact and plays with a lot of energy and is fun to watch on defense! "

As a prep player at Beatrice High School, Schwisow totaled 25 home runs and 86 RBI while hitting .439 for her career. During her time as a Lady Orange she was a two-time All-State and three-time All-Conference performer.
