KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Junior outfielder
Haili Igou was announced as the MIAA Hitter of the Week on Monday (Apr. 13) following an impressive weekend against Drury and Northwest Missouri.
She led the team with a .636 average and .714 on base percentage, helping lead the Gorillas to a 4-0 week. In total, the Stuart, Okla., native recorded seven hits, scored six runs, drove in five runs, collected two doubles, a triple, three walks and stole two bases.
Against Drury (Apr. 7), Igou went 4-of-4 in the doubleheader with five runs scored, three walks drawn, two runs driven in and two doubles against the Panthers. On the road against Northwest Missouri (Apr. 10), recorded an RBI triple in game one and a pair of RBI singles in game two to help the Gorillas move to 39-2 on the season and 11-1 in MIAA play.
This season, Igou is slashing .312/.462/.569 (1.031 OPS) with a team-high 31 walks drawn to go with 39 runs scored, 29 RBI, nine doubles, five home runs and seven stolen bases.
Igou and the Gorillas will play next on Friday (Apr. 17) against Northeastern State University before ending the weekend against the University of Central Missouri on Saturday (Apr. 18).
