KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Pittsburg State University senior defender
Sailor Jensen was named the MIAA Defender of the Week for the first time in program history on Tuesday (Oct. 7).
Jensen helped lead a defensive backline to the fifth shutout performance of the season with a pair of victories over Rogers State (3-0) and Northeastern State (1-0) last weekend at home.
The senior defender from Murray, Utah, collected her fourth goal of the season against RSU to begin the week, with it being the game winner. For the second time this season, she helped the Gorillas in limiting their opponent to finish with no shots in a game against the Hillcats.
Currently leads all defenders in the MIAA and is tied for second in Division II with four goals on the season.
Jensen and the Gorillas will be back in action on Friday (Oct. 10) against Emporia State University in a battle of unbeaten teams in the MIAA. Kickoff from the Gorilla Soccer Pitch is set for 2:00 p.m. (CT).
