Frison's Big Games Lead to MIAA Player of the Week Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Pittsburg State University sophomore guard Jordan Frison was selected the MIAA Player of the Week for men's basketball Monday (Feb. 10).

Frison averaged 33.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists to help lead the Gorillas to a pair of home wins over Emporia State (85-79) and Newman (86-66).

The Memphis, Tenn., native matched his career high with 34 points to fuel the Gorillas past the Jets Saturday (Feb. 8). He made 11 of 20 shots from the floor, including three of four 3-pointers, and added three rebounds and four assists. Frison added 32 points on 13 of 20 shooting against the Hornets Thursday.

For the week, he shot .600 from the field (24-40), .667 from 3-point range (4-6) and .824 from the free throw line (14-17).

Frison, who has averaged 24.2 points over the last six games, leads the MIAA in assists (5.7 apg) and is currently ranked No. 2 in the conference in scoring (16.9 ppg).
