Frison Named MIAA Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Pittsburg State University sophomore guard Jordan Frison earned MIAA Player of the Week honors for men's basketball today (Feb. 24).

Frison averaged 28.0 points, 11.0 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game as the Gorillas split a pair of road games last week.

The Memphis, Tenn., native scored a team-leading 26 points, including 10 points in the game's final 2:45, and dished out a school record 18 assists to lead the Gorillas to their sixth straight win, 100-93, over Nebraska-Kearney last Thursday (Feb. 22). Frison recorded the second-highest single game assist total in MIAA history in the contest and made seven of 17 shots from the floor and added 12-for-14 free throw shooting in the game.

He poured in 30 points and dished out four assists in Pitt State's hard fought 62-58 road loss to Fort Hays State last Saturday. It marked his fourth 30-point scoring outing in the Gorillas' last nine games, as Frison ranks second in the MIAA in scoring (17.6 ppg) and leads the league in assists (6.2 apg).
