WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Pittsburg State University baseball team scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning to rally for a 7-4 victory over the University of Central Missouri Sunday (Mar. 2).
The No. 20 ranked Gorillas (11-3, 3-3 MIAA) salvaged the final game of the three-game series against the No. 4 ranked Mules (11-3, 5-1 MIAA), after UCM posted 11-6 and 7-6 wins over Pitt State the previous two days.
Kadyn Williams knotted the score at 4-4 with an RBI single and
Austin Warkins delivered the go-ahead three run double for the Gorillas.
Brady Pacha () held the Mules hitless over the game's final two innings and registered four strikeouts en route to the win.
Rickey Sanchez and Williams had two hits apiece for the Gorillas. Starter
Tanner Leslie limited UCM to two runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings of work.
Pitt State will return home to host Missouri S&T in a non-conference game Wednesday (Mar. 5) at 3 p.m. (CST) at Al Ortolani Field.
