Gorillas Debut at No. 5 in Softball Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS — The Pittsburg State University softball team debuted at No. 5 in the first set of NCAA Division II Central Regional Rankings released Wednesday (Apr. 23).

Pittsburg State (37-11), ranked No. 23 in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll, is joined by conference foes Central Oklahoma (41-8), Rogers State (33-12), Washburn (30-19) and Missouri Southern (34-16). UCO is the region's No. 1 seed, while RSU is ranked No. 4, WU is ranked No. 8 and MSSU is ranked No. 9.

Southern Arkansas (39-6, Great American Conference) drew the No. 2 seed, followed by No. 3 Augustana (41-9, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference), No. 6 Harding (36-14, GAC), No. 7 Minnesota State (35-15, NSIC) and No. 10 Minnesota Duluth (34-16, NSIC).

Following conference postseason tournament action, the top eight teams in the Central Region will qualify for the 2025 NCAA Division II National Tournament.
