Gorillas Debut at No. 2 in First Set of NCAA Baseball Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS — The Pittsburg State University baseball team debuted at No. 2 in the first set of NCAA Division II Central Regional Rankings released Wednesday (Apr. 30).

Pittsburg State (36-9), ranked No. 15 in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll, is joined by conference foes Central Missouri (35-10) at No. 1, Central Oklahoma (31-14) at No. 4, Fort Hays State (32-12) at No. 9 and Missouri Southern (25-22) at No. 10.

Minnesota State (38-5, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) drew the No. 3 seed, while fellow NSIC member Augustana (31-14) landed at No. 8. The Great American Conference (GAC) is represented by No. 5 Arkansas Tech (29-19), No. 6 Arkansas-Monticello (30-19) and No. 7 Southern Arkansas (30-19).

Following conference postseason tournament action, the top eight teams in the Central Region will qualify for the 2025 NCAA Division II National Tournament, May 15-18, on campus sites.
