Boschee Announces Coaching Staff Updates

PITTSBURG — Pittsburg State University has announced three updates to the 2025-26 men's basketball coaching staff.

Former graduate assistant  Bryan Yungeberg has been elevated into a role as an assistant coach for the Gorillas, while former student-athlete Avery Taggart will step into a graduate assistant coaching position. Blake Rogers, a former student-athlete and graduate assistant coach at Southern Arkansas University, also is joining the staff as an assistant coach.

"I am extremely excited about the additions to our coaching staff," Boschee said. "Adding Avery and Bryan will continue a continuity to our coaching staff with an understanding of our program. Bryan is a relentless worker on the court and on the recruiting trail. Avery has played under me for three years and has a great understanding of what we want out of our players. Blake comes to us highly recommended by coaches I know and trust. He played and succeeded at the Division 2 level and has an understanding at what it takes to be successful. He will have a great rapport with our players! I look forward to working with them along with Coach Depriest!"

Yungeberg is beginning his fourth year in the Pitt State men's basketball program. He served as a team manager during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, before serving as a graduate assistant at East Central University in Ada, Okla., for the 2023-24 campaign. He returned to campus as a graduate assistant for Coach Boschee's staff in 2024-25.
