PITTSBURG - The Pittsburg State University women's soccer team picked up a dominant 5-1 victory at the Gorilla Soccer Pitch on Wednesday (Sept. 10) against Southwest Baptist University.
For the Gorillas (2-1) the win marks the first time in program history to score five goals in a game and saw new highs for shots (34) and shots on goal (17).
Sailor Jensen notched her first career brace with a pair of goals from executed corner kicks.

Dylann Ehegartner and
Annie Payne also scored in the game.

Ryann Caruth and
Andrea Castellanos picked up assists.
Jocelyn Kramar saw her shutout streak end at 183:36 and finished with three saves in goal.
In the first half, the Gorillas got goals from Jensen in the 15th minute, Payne in the 24th minute and Ehegartner in the 40th minute. At the half, Pitt State held a 20-1 advantage on shots against SBU (2-1).
Jensen got the scoring started in the second half with a headed effort in the 74th minute, the Bearcats got one back from a direct free kick just outside the 18-yard box that bypassed the Gorillas defensive wall in the 79th minute. Hunt converted on a penalty kick that
Danae Hobson earned in the 89th minute with 34 seconds remaining in the match.
Up next for the Gorillas will be the Southern Nazarene University Crimson Storm on Saturday (Sept. 13) at Noon from the Gorilla Soccer Pitch.
