PITTSBURG -- The Pittsburg State University baseball team ran its unbeaten record to 12-0 with a 7-2 win over Missouri Western State University Saturday (Feb. 21) at Al Ortolani Field.

Zach Voss improved to 4-0 on the season with five solid innings on the mound for the Gorillas (12-0, 2-0 MIAA). Voss limited Missouri Western (5-7, 0-2 MIAA) to one run on two hits. He faced just 19 batters, issuing one walk and recording four strikeouts.
Ty Blecha worked three innings of two-hit relief with four strikeouts.
Dagen Brewer tied the MIAA's consecutive game hitting streak record at 32 games with a two-run double in the bottom of the fifth inning. Central Missouri's Brayden Whitney set the mark between May 26, 1997 and April 19, 1998.
Eric Bacon led Pitt State's offensive attack with three hits. Bacon and
Cooper Wesslund scored two runs apiece.
The Gorillas will go for the series sweep of the Griffons Sunday (Feb. 22) at 1 p.m. (CST).
