ROGERS, Ark. - The Pittsburg State University women's golf team wrapped up the first day of competition at the UAFS Invite on Monday (Mar. 23) in a tie for 7th at the Shadow Valley Country Club.
As a team, Pittsburg State over 36 holes is +84 (+44/+40) heading into the final day of competition.
Kylee Hopper (+15) leads the team as an individual, ranking 17th.
Genevieve Akers (+17, 24th), Kymbree Larane (+21, 34th),
Abby Ervin (+31, 55th) and
Charlotte Kerbs (+35, 65th) round out the competitors for Pitt State.
Arkansas Tech holds a slim one stroke lead atop the team standings at +43 (+15/+28), Ellen Spigner of ATU is the leading individal at +1 (+3/-2) with a six stroke lead over Mary Kerr from Midwestern State.
The Gorillas will finish with the UAFS Invite on Tuesday (Mar. 24) and then be idle until the MIAA Championship (Apr.20-22) that will be hosted at the Mules National Golf Course in Warrensburg, Mo.
