PITTSBURG - Pittsburg State University Athletics has announced that it will immediately begin implementing a clear bag policy for all events held at Carnie Smith Stadium.
The goal of the policy is to enhance fan safety and improve the speed and efficiency of entry into the stadium. Fans are encouraged to review the guidelines prior to arriving on game day.
"We want the game day experience at Carnie Smith Stadium to be safe, welcoming and efficient for everyone," said Vice President for Athletics
Anthony Crespino. "This policy allows our staff to move fans through entry points more quickly while maintaining a secure environment for our student-athletes, coaches and supporters."
Permitted bags include: clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags; one-gallon clear plastic storage bags; small clutch bags no larger than 4.5" x 7"; diaper bags accompanying a child; and medically necessary bags (subject to inspection).
Prohibited bags include: solid drawstring bags; large purses; fanny packs; camera bags; oversized tote bags; mesh bags; and tinted, colored or patterned bags that are not clear.
All permitted and prohibited items are illustrated in the accompanying graphic for reference.
Pittsburg State Athletics encourages fans to plan ahead and arrive early to avoid delays at the gates. Fans with prohibited bags will be asked to return them to their vehicles before entering the stadium.
