CLEVELAND — Pittsburg State University Athletics finished in eighth place in the final 2025-26 NCAA Division II Learfield Directors' Cup standings released today (June 9).
The Gorillas eighth place national finish is the school's third straight top 10 placement in the Learfield Director's Cup standings. Pitt State placed 10th overall during the 2023-24 academic year and the Gorillas recorded their highest all-time national placement at seventh a year ago.
The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports - seven women's and seven men's.
The Gorillas, who field 15 intercollegiate sports, compiled 673 points overall – 188 points during the fall, 200 points during the winter and 285 points during the spring.
Grand Valley State University captured the 2025-26Â Learfield Directors' Cup crown with 1089.75 points.
