PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University women's soccer team will continue MIAA action on the road this weekend down in Oklahoma.
 
Against Northeastern State on Friday (Sept. 25) the Gorillas will square off with the RiverHawks at 7:00 p.m. (CT) from DeLoache Field. To end the weekend on Sunday (Sept. 27), Central Oklahoma will host PSU from Tom Thompson Field at 1:00 p.m.
 
Off to an 8-0 start, 2-0 in the MIAA and ranked No. 6 in the latest USC Division II Poll (Sept. 22), Pittsburg State has scored 23 goals (10^th in Division II) while allowing none so far in 720:00 minutes (1 of 5 in DII). Ryann Caruth leads the team with four goals (three game winning) and an assist for nine points. Danae Hobson is the team leader with 23 shots and 14 shots on goal. Hobson (2 G, 3 A) is joined by Avianna Gonzalez (2 G, 3 A), Mia Hunt (2 G, 3 A) and Carrie Cunningham (2 G, 2 A) are members of the team with multiple goals and assists. Sarah Peyton Webb leads the team and is one of three defenders in Division II with five or more assists on the season. Jocelyn Kramar in 620:13 minutes of play has recorded 14 saves, four shutouts and been part of four other combined shutouts with Sabrina Schilt. Schilt has played in 99:47 of play this season.
 
Against Northeastern State, Pittsburg State is 1-2 with a 1-0 win over NSU in the regular season last campaign. In the last trip down to Tahlequah (Oct. 6, 2024) the Gorillas lost 3-1.
 
Northeastern State University
NSU is off to a 5-2-1 overall record, going 1-1-0 in the opening weekend of MIAA play. The RiverHawks this season have scored 10 goals (1.25) while allowing five (0.63).
 
Annabella Trotter leads the team with four goals and three assists for 11 points. Mya lynn Tran is the other member of the team with multiple goals and assists this season (2 G, 2 A) and is the team leader with 15 shots. Juliette Langlet in 684:55 has allowed five goals for a 0.66 GAA and 43 saves.
 
Against Central Oklahoma, the Gorillas claimed a 2-0 victory down in Edmond last season (Oct. 31). Ann Boehnlein got the scoring started in the first half before a Livi Jones free kick goal sealed the win at 77:31.
 
Central Oklahoma University
UCO will begin the weekend with a 4-3-1 overall record, going 1-0-1 in MIAA action. The Bronchos this season have scored 12 goals (1.50) while allowing eight (1.00).
 
Sami Allen leads the team and is the only Broncho with multiple goals and assists so far this season with two goals and three assists while firing off 23 shots, 14 of which have been shots on goal. Maddie Ortwein in 540:00 minutes in goal has allowed six goals for a 1.00 GAA, saving 17 shots and claiming a pair of shutouts.
