The recipient shall have demonstrated outstanding service to Pittsburg State University over a sustained period of time, preferably five or more years. Coach status should be determined by won-loss record, conference championships won or other generally accepted criteria for professional accomplishments. The recipient should be generally recognized as an outstanding person in the profession of athletics. §

§ PSU Hall of Fame constitution amended in 2011 to grandfather Lance, Murphy and Weede under the “Coaches” category from “Meritorious Achievement”; and the constitution was amended in 2023 to expand the category from “Coaches” to “Coaches/Staff” with the discontinuation of the “Meritorious Achievement” category.
