Brian K. Byers (1977-78)

Football Athlete
Brian K. Byers was a two-time All-America offensive lineman for the Gorillas. Byers earned second-team NAIA All-America honors in 1977 and he was a first-team NAIA All-America and first-team Kodak/AFCA All-America in 1978. Byers also was a two-time first-team All-CSIC performer (1977-78).

Dr. David James Kendall

Meritorious Service
Dr. David James Kendall served as the counselor for Pittsburg State Athletics for 13 years, before retiring in the spring of 1994. Kendall was instrumental in helping foster and develop strong academic achievement by PSU student-athletes. His dedication to academics has helped Pittsburg State rank among the top colleges and universities nationwide in producing Academic All-America recipients among the department's student-athletes.

Robert W. McLeod (1973-77)
Valley Falls, Kansas
Cross Country, Track & Field Athlete
Robert W. McLeod was a multiple-time NAIA All-America on the PSU cross country and track & field squads. McLeod earned NAIA All-America honors three times in cross country (1973, '76-77), including a third-place finish at the 1977 NAIA national meet. He also earned NAIA All-America honors in track in the indoor two-mile run and the outdoor 5,000 meters.

Sheila J. Miller (1981-85)
Columbus, Kansas
Softball Athlete
Sheila Miller was a four-time All-Central States Intercollegiate Athletics Conference pitcher on the Gorilla softball team. Upon the conclusion of her athletic career, Miller had established nearly every significant career pitching record in school history. She was the first softball athlete to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
