Pittsburg State Gorillas

Second-year player… a returning All-MIAA outfielder for the Gorillas… In 2021: Started 37 of 42 games played… hit .346 with 25 runs scored, 11 doubles, three HRs and 27 RBIs… also stole 14 bases and posted a 1.000 fielding percentage with no errors in 86 chances… earned third-team All-MIAA honors and named to the MIAA Gold Glove Team… enjoyed 11 multiple-hit games… went 4-for-4 with three RBIs vs. Newman (Apr. 18)… transferred to Pitt State from Iowa Western Community College… In Junior College: Spent two seasons at Iowa Western… hit .269 with 16 runs scored, seven doubles and seven RBIs in 2019… batted .209 with 10 runs scored and six RBIs in the shortened 2020 season… signed with the University of Hawaii out of high school… In High School: A two-time Nebraska All-State selection at Millard North High School… also an All-State selection in football for the Mustangs… Personal: Born January 25, 1999… son of Kyle Gerdes and Pamela Waternate-Gerdes… a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll… a finance major.
