Biography

Second-year player… a talented left-handed pitcher who will battle for a role in the Gorillas starting rotation this spring… In 2010: Made 11 appearances, including five starts… posted a 1-4 record with an 8.00 ERA in 27 innings of work... registered 20 strikeouts on the season.

In Junior College: A two-year starter at Neosho County CC… posted a 3.84 ERA in 51 innings of work.

In High School: A second-team Kansas Class 6A All-State performer at Lawrence’s Free State High… posted a 6-1 record with 60 strikeouts… tossed a perfect game vs. Leavenworth High his senior season… helped the Firebirds to a Kansas Class 6A State Championship in 2006… also competed in football.

Personal: Born December 14, 1989… son of John and Cindy Gress… a construction management major.
