Taylor Steen

Taylor Steen returns to campus as an assistant coach in the Pittsburg State University program after a one-year absence. He served as an assistant coach for the Gorillas from 2020-22.

Steen rejoins the Pitt State staff after working with Midwest Marucci Arkansas, a baseball clubhouse and training facility in Northwest Arkansas, in 2023.

Steen came to Pitt State after serving as an assistant coach the previous two years at the University of Minnesota Crookston. He helped the Golden Eagles post a 28-21 record during the 2019 season, including a 20-12 mark in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

Prior to his time at UMC, Steen served as an assistant coach for Bob Fornelli at Emporia State University in 2017, coaching catchers and assisting with hitting instruction.

Steen played collegiately at Indiana State University for three seasons (2013-15) before transferring to Emporia State for his senior season in 2016. He helped the Hornets to a 39-19 overall record and a berth in the NCAA Division II National Tournament that year.

Steen earned a bachelor's degree in recreation from Emporia State in May 2016. He married the former Logan Lord on July 8.
