Pittsburg State Gorillas

Third-year player… a talented infielder who rejoined the Gorillas for the 2014 season after spending two years at Independence Community College… expected to be a frontline player for the Gorillas again this spring.

In 2014: Started all 49 games played… batted .263 with 29 runs scored, five doubles and 14 RBI… nine of 14 in stolen base attempts… recorded 12 multi-hit games… went 3-for-4 with two runs scored vs. Fort Hays State (Feb. 22).

In Junior College:  Played in 56 games for the Pirates in 2013… batted .297 with one homerun and 15 RBIs on the year… also scored 43 runs and stole 19 bases.
 
In 2011: Appeared in 14 games for the Gorillas, including three starts… batted .143 in 21 plate appearances.

In High School: An All-Eastern Kansas League performer at Blue Valley High... helped the Tigers to a pair of Kansas Class 6A state championships... posted a .375 career batting average.

Personal: Born December 10, 1991... son of David and Robin Hackney... a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll… has a 3.01 GPA as a wood technology major.
