Cody Williams

Cody Williams enters his second year as an assistant football coach at Pittsburg State University. Williams serves as the Gorillas’ Student-Athlete Performance Coach.

He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and he’s certified by USA Weightlifting (USAW) and the National Association for Speed and Explosion (NASE).

Williams came to Pitt State after serving as an assistant strength coach at the University of Oregon for the past three years (2021-23).

He served as a graduate assistant strength & conditioning coach at East Central University during the 2020-21 academic year after serving as a strength & conditioning intern at both Iowa State University and the University of Connecticut in 2019. Williams also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Waverly-Shell Rock High School in Waverly, Iowa for two stints from 2016-18 and 2020.

A native of Steamboat Rock, Iowa, Williams played football at Wartburg College. He earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of Northern Iowa in December 2019 as well as a master’s degree in sports administration from East Central University in July 2021.
