In 2019: Started two games before an injury forced a medical redshirt season… made 15 tackles (nine solo) and one pass break-up on the year.
In 2018: Started four of 11 games played… made 59 tackles (27 solo) with 1.0 tackles-for-loss, one interception and one pass break-up on the season… made a career-high 11 tackles vs. FHSU (Oct. 13).
In 2017: Saw action in all 12 games, including six starts… made 49 tackles (34 solo) with 2.5 TFLs, two pass break-ups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries on the season.
In 2016: Saw action in nine games in a reserve role… made 14 tackles (10 solo) with 1.0 TFL and 1.0 quarterback sack on the year… also posted one interception and one PBU.
In Track & Field: Garnered All-America honors with a sixth-place finish in the javelin at the 2016 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships (217-6)… also earned All-MIAA honors in the discipline… placed fourth in the javelin at the USATF Junior Nationals in June 2017.
In High School: A Kansas Class 5A All-State performer as a defensive back as a senior at Wichita Heights High School in 2015… finished his career as the Falcons all-time tackles leader… also the Class 5A state champion in the javelin and the state runner-up in the 100m hurdles in track & field … also a Class 5A All-State outfielder in baseball.
Personal: Born January 31, 1998… son of Mario Sanders and Sonya Bess… a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and an MIAA Scholar Athlete… has a 3.30 GPA as an exercise science major.
