General: Enters his first season in the Pitt State program where he reunites with head coach Jeff Boschee after playing four season at MIAA rival Missouri Southern State University and scored over 1000 points.

Prior to PSU: Played at MIAA rival Missouri Southern State University for four season (2021-24) where he finished 26th in program history for career scoring with 1,050 points (9.8 per game) ... A two-time All-MIAA performer in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons ... Finished with 184 three-pointers made to rank seventh in program ranks at MSSU and his 495 attempts from range were the eighth most for a career as a Lion.

HS: Prepped at Eureka High School where he was a standout on the football and basketball court for the Wildcats ... A three-year starter in both sports, Taggart was a first-team All-Conference and All-District selection each year he started on the basketball court on his way to being an All-State honoree his senior season of 2018-19 ... On the football field he was ranked as the No. 53 overall recruit and No. 2 tight end in the state of Missouri in the Class of 2019 by 247Sports.com.
