Braxton Williams enters his second season with the Pittsburg State University men's basketball program in 2024-25.
In 2023-24 he helped coach the Gorillas to a 21-11 season that resulted in a trip to the NCAA Division II National Tournament.Â
Williams served the 2022-23 season as an assistant coach at Missouri State University-West Plains. He previously served as graduate assistant coach at Ottawa University of Arizona, for two seasons. Williams helped Ottawa to a 25-9 record in 2021-22 as the Spirit claimed the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) Tournament Championship and advanced to the second round of the NAIA National Tournament.
Since July 2018, Williams also has served as a player development coach/trainer for Playmakers Basketball in Phoenix, Ariz. He has helped coach and train a host of NBA players including the likes of Rudy Gay (Utah Jazz), Deandre Ayton (Phoenix Suns) and Alex Len (Sacramento Kings).
Williams, a West Plains, Mo., native, competed collegiately at MIAA rival Northeastern State University. He was a team captain for the RiverHawks as a senior in 2016-17. Williams played at North Iowa Area Community College for three years before transferring to NSU. He earned All-Conference accolades his sophomore season.
Williams earned a bachelor's degree in recreation fitness from NSU in December 2017. He earned a master's degree in leadership from Ottawa in April 2022.
