Jake Hamburger begins his first year as an assistant coach in the Pittsburg State University men's basketball program.
Hamburger came to Pitt State from the University of Oregon where he served as a graduate assistant coach for the Ducks the past two years. Oregon posted a 25-13 record and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 before falling to eventual national champion Virginia this past season.

Prior to his tenure at Oregon, Hamburger served as the top assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at his alma mater, Hastings College, during the 2016-17 season. He also served as an assistant coach at Papillion La-Vista South High School for two years (2015-16).

Hamburger played basketball for three years at Hastings College (2012-14) after playing his freshman season at Morningside College (2011). He garnered honorable mention All-Great Plains Athletic Conference honors as a senior in 2014. Hamburger also earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors in each of his final two seasons at Hastings.

He earned a bachelor of arts degree in English secondary education from Hastings in May 2014 and a master's degree in prevention science from Oregon in June 2019.
