Abby Shoemaker enters her fourth year as an assistant coach at Pittsburg State University in 2026.
During her tenure with the Gorillas the team has gone 143-71overall (.668) and 60-42 in MIAA action (.588). She has helped to mentor four All-Americans and three Academic All-Americans with Heather Arnett being a first-team selection for both. During her tenure she has also coached a MIAA Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year with six student-athletes named first-team All-MIAA, also part of the 2024 coaching staff named MIAA Staff of the Year.
As a student-athlete at Pitt State in 2022 she finished with 31 appearances in the circle, drawing the start in 26 games for 118.2 innings while striking out 92 batters. Prior to her time at Pitt State, Shoemaker played at conference foe Missouri Southern State University from 2018-21. While at MSSU she appeared in 93 games with 63 starts for a 26-26 record in 341.0 innings and 198 strikeouts.
