Jacob Roark

Jacob Roark begins his first season an assistant coach on the Gorilla women's basketball staff in 2023-24.
 
Roark comes to Pitt State after serving the past two years as an assistant coach at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Ala. He previously served as head coach at Florida College, his alma mater, for two seasons.

Roark was honored by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association as one of 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches aged 30 and under when he was named to the 2023 WBCA Third Under 30 list in March. He helped the Lady Eagles to a 41-20 combined record the past two seasons including a program first Southern States Athletic Conference championship and a berth in the NAIA National Tournament in 2022-23.

Roark, a native of Concord, Ark., finished his collegiate career at Florida College after playing two seasons at NCAA Division II member Harding University. At Harding, he helped the Bisons to a GAC title and a berth in the NCAA-II National Tournament as a sophomore in 2015-16.

Roark earned a bachelor's degree in information systems from Florida College in 2019. He married the former Taylor Varnell and the couple has a daughter, Dylan, who turns two in December.
