Biography

General: Completed her second season in the Pitt State program in 2024-25 where she emerged as a figurehead for the Gorillas moving forward ... In 64 games, 53 starts Mays has scored 799 points (12.5) and hauled in 227 rebounds (3.5), with a .522 field goal percentage, .814 free throw percentage and .373 three-point percentage.

2024-25: Started in 32-of-33 games she appeared in for the Gorillas as a key component of the MIAA Regular Season and Postseason Tournament champions that made it to the NCAA Division II Final Four ... Averaged 13.7 points and 3.8 rebounds a game while shooting .513 from the field (180-of-351), .338 from behind the arc (27-of-80) and .846 from the charity stripe (66-of-78) ... Named third-team All-MIAA and onto the MIAA All-Tournament Team ... Scored a season-high 30 points inside John Lance Arena against Northeastern State (Jan. 4), going a perfect 10-of-10 from the field, 4-of-4 from three-point attempts and 6-of-6 from free throws to tie a school record for field goal percentage in a game ... Hauled in a season-high 11 rebounds on the road against Arkansas - Fort Smith (Feb. 1) ... Provided a season-high six assists to go with 21 points, six rebounds and three steals against Minnesota - Crookston (Nov. 9) ... Came away with a season-high four steals against Washburn (Mar. 8) in the MIAA Postseason Tournament Semifinal, pouring in 18 points and three rebounds ... Recorded 23 double-figure scoring performances, three coming in postseason action (Missouri Southern, Mar. 6, Washburn, Mar. 8 and Harding, Mar. 14).

2023-24: Started in 21-of-31 games she played in for Pitt State ... Finished the season averaging 11.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists a game while shooting .534 percent from the field, .419 from deep and .776 from free throws ... Scored a season-high 25 points against Northeastern State (Jan. 27) going 9-of-14 from the field, 3-of-6 from three and made all four of her free throws ... Hauled in a season best seven rebounds at Newman (Feb. 3) ... Named to the MIAA All-Tournament team after averaging 15.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 steals a game while shooting .630 percent from the field, .600 percent from deep and made all 10 free throws as she helped lead the Gorillas to the program first ever MIAA Tournament championship ... Scored 20 or more points in three games ... Made three or more threes in four games.

HS: Mays was a four-year letter winner at El Dorado Springs High School for coach Beau Swopes on the basketball court and is the career scoring leader with 2,550 points for the Bulldogs ... The 2022-23 Class 3 Player of the Year where she averaged 25.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game while helping the Bulldogs to a 26-6 overall record ... A two-time All-State selection along with being named All-Conference and All-District throughout her prep career ... Helped the Bulldogs to the Class 3 State Championship in the 2021-22 season ... Academically she was a member of the National Honors Society along with being the VP of the FBLA club.

Personal: Born Jan. 25, 2005 ... Macie is the daughter of Tammy and Jarrod Mays ... A two-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll member and MIAA Scholar Athlete with a 3.73 GPA as an exercise science major.
