Pittsburg State Gorillas

General: A talented guard who demonstrated on multiple occasions in her lone season in the Pitt State program that she can take over games with her defensive prowess and tenacity on offense.

2024-25: Battled back from a mid season injury to become a big piece in the MIAA Regular Season and Postseason title, helping the Gorillas to the NCAA Division II Final Four with 17 starts in 29 games played ... Averaged 6.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals a game ... Went 59-of-130 from the field (.454), 10-of-22 from behind the arc (.455) and 54-of-67 from free throws (.806) ... Scored a season-high 14 points in the MIAA Postseason Tournament Quarterfinals against Missouri Southern (Mar. 6), going 5-of-6 from the field with two three pointers and two free throws on top of six rebounds and four assists in 22 off the bench ... In 13 minutes against Minnesota State - Mankato in the NCAA Division II Central Region Semifinals she finished with 11 points going 7-of-8 from the charity stripe and converted on both of her field goal attempts ... Came away with a season-high 11 rebounds against Colorado Mesa (Dec. 20) adding in nine points and seven assists in 25 minutes ... Dished out 10 assists against Northwestern Oklahoma (Nov. 21) in the home opener, adding in seven rebounds, a season-high six steals and six points in 27 minutes ... Of the six double figure scoring performances, four came in post season action (Missouri Southern, Mar. 6, Minnesota State - Mankato, Mar. 15, Southwest Minnesota State, Mar. 17 and Lubbock Christian, Mar. 24).

Prior to PSU: Played at Butler Community College for coach Mike Helmer and the Grizzlies for two seasons (23-24) ... Garnered All-Jayhawk Conference honors in each of her two seasons with the Grizzlies ... Earned honorable mention All-Conference recognition as a sophomore this past winter after being named to the second-team squad as well as the All-Defensive Team as a freshman in 2022-23 ... For her career, James averaged 6.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.7 steals per game at BCC.

HS: Prepped at Goddard High School for coach Marcus James where she was a four-year letter winner on the basketball court for the Lions ... The 2022 Goddard High School Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year was a first-team All-State performer while leading all classes in Kansas her senior season with 6.8 steals a game ... As a senior she averaged 17.9 points, 8.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists a game with 13 double-doubles and two triple-double games ... A member of the National Honors Society and was featured on the Honor Roll while at Goddard High.

Personal: Born April 25, 2004 ... Daughter of Deaun Horner and Marcus James ... Named to the MIAA Newcomer Academic Honor Roll with a 3.88 cumulative GPA as a recreation services sport and hospitality management major at the conclusion of the 2024-25 school year.
