Prior to PSU: Newell was a member of the Fort Hays State University program for four years (2020-23) finishing with 23 starts in 44 appearances ... Accumulated 2020 minutes with three assists to her name as a Tiger along with being a four-year member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

HS: Prepped at Broken Arrow High School for coach Kassie Embrey and the Tigers as a standout performer.
