Pittsburg State Gorillas

First-year player… transferred to Pitt State from NCAA Division I Missouri State University... a talented right-handed pitcher… will look to make an immediate impact for the Gorillas this spring.
 
At Missouri State: Appeared in nine games, including seven starts… posted a 5.65 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 36.7 innings pitched.
 
In Junior College: Spent two seasons at Jefferson College… earned All-Region honors after going 12-1 with a 2.16 ERA and 97 strikeouts in 91.7 innings of work.
 
In High School: A four-time All-Conference and All-District performer at South Pemiscot High School… earned All-State honors as a senior in 2010… also competed in football and basketball during his prep career.
 
Personal: Born June 21, 1992… son of Johnny and Tammy Thompson... a physical education major.
