Vargas enter her second season as an assistant coach at Pittsburg State in 2026.
Helped the Gorillas in 2025 return to the MIAA Tournament for the first time since 2022, beating the regular season co-champions and 16th ranked Missouri Western Griffions. Helped mentor Anna Dean and Josie McCroskey to All-MIAA honors, with Dean being named the MIAA Blocker of the Year.
As a collegiate player, Vargas spent time at Adams State University, Oklahoma Panhandle State University and Garden City Community College as a setter. At ASU, she recorded 786 assists and 317 digs in 44 matches for the Grizzlies. In her lone season at OPSU, she recorded 314 assists and 261 digs in 30 matches. At GCCC, Vargas in 59 matches accumulated 1,650 assists (8.17 per set) and 603 digs.
